Meet Moustafa Mourad, MD, FACS
Dr. Mourad has always had an innate sense of facial balance and harmony. When you combine his heightened aesthetic awareness with his years of intensive training, you’ll see why Dr. Mourad is able to achieve such excellent, lasting outcomes for each of his patients.
Dr. Mourad received advanced surgical training at respected institutions including New York’s Beth Israel Medical Center and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, where he was chief resident in otolaryngology in the specialty of head and neck surgery. Dr. Mourad was then selected from hundreds of exceptional candidates to complete an additional year of aesthetic and advanced facial plastics and reconstructive surgery training with the world-renowned surgeon Dr. Yadranko Ducic. While there, Dr. Mourad intentionally fine-tuned his skills to better provide an exceptional level of care to his New York City patients. His substantial experience also includes current positions as Division Chief of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery at New York City affiliated hospitals. His substantial experience also includes a current position as the Chief of Head & Neck and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the James J. Peters Hospital in New York City. Dr. Mourad also holds the position of Chief of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and TJH Medisys Health Network.
Dr. Moustafa Mourad takes a personal, individualized and holistic approach to every one of his patients, including those in underserved populations. He works to help individuals with congenital deformities, victims of abuse, and those with traumatic defects, regardless of their life situation. He does all he can to share his expertise as a way of giving back to the community.
He has received a number of distinguished awards, including the J. Swift Hanley Memorial Award for excellence in head and neck oncology research. He has also published dozens of scientific papers and chapters in academic texts. His work includes advanced research in areas such as head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction of the head and neck.
